Surface checks shall check the surface specified by the part print unless otherwise noted.
Surfaces shall be checked in one of the following methods:
1. Feeler pin
2. Scrape Fixture, in combination with hole location check using flush pin
3. Indicator check form or profiles with less than 0.5 mm tolerance will be constructed of hardened steel to 57 Rockwell C minimum.
There shall be a 31 mm offset for all variable gauging unless otherwise specified.
The use of thumbnail checks will be incorporated when applicable. (See figure on next page)
When flatness is called out and variable data is required, a variable indicator will have the ability to verify total flatness pass through or variable.
LMI and/or SPC ports shall be included when applicable.
