All locator pins are to be of captive design; if not stab type locator pins are also allowed. For holes less than 3mm dia.captive type locator pins must be used. All captive type Pins to retract minimum of 3mm under the bushing. Positional pins measuring length must be material thickness + 0.5mm to allow clear check of feature being measured.
For all attribute Profile checks (Feeler checks) clearance between part and Fixture to be stamped on the Fixture and must be visible when part is in the Fixture. Standard clearance for feeler checks is 5.0 mm, unless otherwise specified. Each Feeler Pin Gage must be identified with ‘letter’ as well as a color dot. The color dot is produced by applying paint inside a 6mm drilled spot-face. Same color dot and ‘letter’ have to be stamped on the station where profile of surface or trim line has to be performed. This identification has to be visible while part is loaded on the station.
